Are balloons biodegradable?
Balloons are not plastic. They’re made from the milky sap of the rubber tree. They decompose like plant leaves, almost immediately. You can check out what the Balloon Council has to say for more in-depth facts.
Where does the latex used in balloons come from?
Latex balloons are produced from the milky sap of the rubber tree, Hevea brasiliensis. The rubber tree originated in the tropical forests of South America and was taken to Europe from Brazil. It is now grown on plantations in many tropical countries. The latex is collected in buckets, as it drips from harmless cuts in the bark. The use of latex balloons and other products, such as surgical gloves, make rubber trees economically valuable, which discourages people from cutting them down. Click here for more information.
How far in advance do I need to book you, to be sure you are available for my event?
Book an on-site planning time as soon as the date is set. Special occasions can book up quickly (such as New Year’s Eve or June weddings). Please contact us and let us know the date you have in mind.

In order to hold the date for your balloon designs on your special event date, a deposit is required, along with a signed contract. This allows for preplanning, timely delivery, and installation.
Yes, we take the hassle off your plate and deliver to the venue site. Often, loading a car with a balloon bouquet can be dangerous with no visibility and a challenge you should not experience. We at Balloons by Design have the perfect vehicle for your deliveries.
